    Vehicle accelerated from a complete stop at a traffic light, causing a collision. The engine raced and the brake became completely disengaged. The car took off like a bullet causing damage to both vehicles and landed me in apposing traffic. Thank god no-one was injured. Manufacturer found no defects or cause for malfunction.*ak

    Foot was applied to brakes while car was being shifted into reverse. Vehicle suddenly accelerated backward, crashing into a utility pole.     Accelerator pedal sticks closed due to obstruction in throttle body. To overcome inertia; excess pressure on pedal is required. When obstruction clears; engine rpm is very high causing vehicle to surge if in gear. Cleaning throttle body is required every six months. Cost is prohibitive. *nm
