    Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

I have seen numerous complaints by others about the abs modulator on the 1994 accord. I have also seen that this problem occurs primarily in the cars manufactured at the ohio plant (beginning vin# 1hg). This is a safety issue that corrective action needs to immediately be taken on. Thank you.*ak

Abs vaccuum leak from under hood. After several draw downs, abs warning lamp comes on. This has occurred for several years. Multiple abs listings in service bulletins points to serious problem with system, not an isolated event.

    Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

As i approached a stopped vehicle in front of me, the anti-lock brakes failed to respond at all. The pedal responded appropriately, however the car did not slow down at all. I hit a van in front of me, which was pushed into a truck in front of her, which then collided with a police car in front of her. There was approximately $4000 damage to my car and the others are being assessed. I tried twice to apply the brakes…

A/c recall - cooling system never works properly. Defrost doesn't clear windows on left side. Engine started leaking oil profusely (part recall?) abs braking system went out. Lighting switch went out & all lights blew. Antenna does'nt work properly. Windows are coming down slower and slower. Seems like the transmission might be the next to go. This car has been a continual case of murphy's law.*ak

    Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

As i turned on the ignition, the abs light came on, signalling that the abs system was no longer functioning. According to the honda diagnostic service, the modulator is leaking. Both the modulator and accumulator have to be replaced at a cost of over $1500.00. I have been told by mechanics at two honda dealers in my area (open road honda, edison, nj; z&w honda, princeton, nj) that this is a very common problem on…

    Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

Looking into the techincal service bulletin you will see over 6 bulletin reporting the loss of brake fluid from the abs accumulator / moldulator area. This appears to me to be a manufacturing defect, a safety issue as well. Since i have never used my abs, i can not understand how this system has failed due to brake fluid leakage. I feel that since the goverment pushed abs and the manufacture charges additional for…

This is my second "major" defect with my 1994 honda. The first was an oil seal which honda a year later had a recall on. I have now have a problem with the abs brakes. I have complained about this for almost two years and got numerous answers on why the light kept coming on. Now almost two years later they tell me i need a whole new system which is going to cost $1300.00. To me this is a safety hazard when your…

    Antilock/Traction Control/Electronic Limited Slip

Abs module was out of warranty, but owner believes a major safety feature like this should last the lifetime of the car, especially when repairs cost $1200 or more. My mechanic (honda-trained) said he did 5 abs repairs in 3 weeks. Why was the abs module redesigned in 1996? Perhaps a higher -than- normal failure rate trend was noticed (just my opinion). Pre-1996 acura legends also have the same abs module. *ak
